Because you can walk almost all over Encampment and Riverside, returning to Riverside Lodge at your convenience, you can get a family view of a little mountain community with a lot of history and a great deal of life.
The k-12 school makes a hub for the community and is focused on providing children with education and access to references, library, exercise and one another. Sports activities in a little mountain community teach the children life skills about healthy competition, teamwork and social skills with other teams.
You may not be in the area at a time when you can attend an activity at the school or one of the events hosted by the Encampment/Riverside communities every year, but when you are there, you will be able to absorb and appreciate the spirit of community. These little mountain towns certainly represent the thought that it takes a village to raise a child. There are children in this village and they are valued by the village.
